This boutique La Almunia del Valle is situated in one of the most beautiful spots of the Sierra Nevada Natural Park, in the municipality of Monachil merely 8 km from Granada city centre.
The La Almunia del Valle is set in a valley crossed by the river that gives its name to the village of Monachil. The residence was built with absolute respect and blends into the natural environment; all of the rooms feature the impressive sight of the Sierra Nevada.
The estate is extensive; one part is cultivated with olive, chestnut and various other fruit trees, but the other was left to its natural state extending over the side of the mountain to the rear of the hotel, shielding it from the light pollution of the nearby urban areas. There is a terrace with a large solarium where guests can enjoy stargazing. The estate and its services are exclusively for guests and not public use.

If you are interested in having dinner in the La Almunia del Valle the night of your arrival, except on Sunday, please inform us in advance. We need to know the number of clients that will dine with us, because we only use fresh products and the dinner service is only available to La Almunia del Valle guests.
Area information
The village of Monachil is strategically situated in the province and is only a 20 minute drive from the Sierra Nevada ski resort, 35 minutes drive from the Costa Tropical and 30 minutes from the peculiar region of La Alpujarra.
Active tourism activities, as they are characteristically known, such as horse back riding, rafting, parasailing and day or night visits to La Alhambra, can be easily arranged by our guests in specialised centres in the province. These companies have a high degree of experience in supporting sporting activities in the Sierra Nevada Natural Park, cultural visits to La Alhambra and its surroundings or Andalusian heritage. Nevertheless, even with such services, our La Almunia del Valle will be glad to assist and inform our guests with details about current cultural activities, worthwhile scenic routes or exhibitions and concerts that are taking place in the vicinity.
Travel information
We are located at 1000 m. from the village of Monachil. It’s easy; here you have some indications that will help.
1A.- From Malaga airport take A92 to Granada, 12 km. before arriving to Granada take exit Santa Fe – Granada, exit: nº 230 direction to Circunvalación (ring road of Granada) - Sierra Nevada
1B.- From Granada airport take Circunvalación (ring road of Granada).
2 .- From the “circunvalación” (ring road) take exit nº 132: Ronda Sur – Alhambra - Sierra Nevada.
3 .- You are now in Ronda Sur, take exit nº2: Monachil. You have 6 km. until you rich the village of Monachil.
4 .- Follow the signs to Monachil Casco Antiguo (old town), straight ahead without leaving the road where you are.
5 .- When you arrive to Monachil Casco antiguo follow the sings to La Almunia del Valle, you have to take your right at the end of the village. We are at 1.000 m. from the town, in Camino de la Umbria. Attention: this is a narrow road. There is a sing of La Almunia del Valle in the small road entrance.
