Hotel Kokenhof Kokenhof is located at the gates of Hanover, conveniently accessible via the nearby motorway A7, and approximately only 25 km from the exhibition centre.
The rustic styled double-fronted half-timbered house has a long history behind it and has been transformed into a modern and comfortable historical timbered house with a unique and harmonious character of its own.
Tietoa hotellista
The house was built with the finest oak by masters of the carpentry craft, and was first officially recorded in 1556 in the Urbar, a register of farming properties. The inscription ”Ora et labora” carved into a mighty roof-beam also suggests this time before the Thirty Years’ War and characterises the historical past of this house.
In 1792, the house was taken apart and rebuilt in its present form. Since then, the house has experienced historical ups and downs. Menge’s Hof in the end became Hotel Kokenhof Kokenhof. A modern and comfortable interior decoration has made the historical timbered house a unique and harmonious character of its own.
