The Eden Lancaster Hotel is open 24 hours per day and houses 91 recently renovated Eden Lancaster Hotel rooms divided over 5 floors. All rooms have free high speed internet, free coffee & tea facilities and a private, compact bathroom.
In our charming lobby free wireless internet is available; if you do not have your own laptop you can use our internet computer at a small charge. Drinks and snacks are available 24 hours per day. A breakfast buffet can be enjoyed in our breakfast restaurant.
Our receptionists will be happy to assist you in reserving tickets to all kinds of attractions such as the zoo Artis, a canal cruise or a city tour. City maps are available at the reception free of charge.
If you are coming by car you can use the public parking lots around the hotel. Day cards for the parking can be obtained at the reception. Please note that parking in Amsterdam is expensive! (34 euro per 24 hours)
Unfortunately the Eden Lancaster Hotel and breakfast area are not easily accessible for guests in a wheel chair.
Food & beverage
For a healthy start of the day we recommend our breakfast buffet! At only 15 euro per person you can enjoy a variety of warm and cold dishes which are served in buffet style in our air conditioned restaurant. Our employees will be happy to welcome you daily from 07.00 to 10.30 hours, Saturdays and Sundays till 11.00 hours.
Around the Eden Lancaster Hotel you will find many cosy restaurants and bars, for any type of meal from a snack to a fancy dinner. Would you like to try the famous Brasserie Flo on Rembrandt Square? Our receptionists will be happy to reserve a table for you; special discount voucher for Brasserie Flo can also be obtained at our reception.
The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible.

The Eden Lancaster Hotel is located on the quiet and exclusive Plantage Middenlaan; in the centre of Amsterdam opposite of the zoo Artis. Within walking distance from the Eden Lancaster Hotel are Waterloo square with the theatre and the famous flee market and the Rembrandt square with its bars, restaurants and clubs.
Besides the Artis ZOO, you wil find the Hermitage Museum, Carré theatre and the botanical gardens of Amsterdam in the surroundings of the hotel.
Central Station can be reached in 15 minutes by tram number 9. The RAI congress centre is at 20-25 minutes and the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport at 35 minutes. There is a regular shuttle service from and to the airport operated by Connexxion which stops at our hotel, so you should not have any trouble reaching us!
Travel information
By Tram:
- Take tram number 9 or 14 to Artis Zoo / Plantage Middenlaan.
By Car:
- Take the A10 ring road and depart at exit S-113.
- After the exit follow directions for the city centre.
- After about 2.5 km you will come to the roundabout near the Tropenmuseum; turn to the left.
- Take the first crossing to the right.
- After about 300 metres the Lancaster is situated on the left side.
Important information
A valid ID or passport is required upon check-in.
We need a valid credit card number to confirm your reservation, if the credit card is not your own, we require a signed authorisation from the card holder along with a copy of both sides of the card.
Check-in starts at 15:00. The only way to guarantee an early arrival is to reserve the room for the night before. Upon arrival our reception will ask you for a credit card imprint or a cash payment for the entire stay plus a 50 euro deposit for any extra costs.
Check-out is at 12 noon. We kindly request you to take this time into consideration. If you would like to keep the room longer than 12 noon, there will be an automatic charge of EUR 25 (excluding 5% city tax) per hour, until 16:00. After 16:00, our daily room rate will apply.
If an advanced departure takes place (a so-called early check-out), the first following night will be charged extra, with the exception of congress and event periods wherein the entire stay will be charged.
While some drugs are legalized in The Netherlands, drugs are not permitted anywhere on the hotel’s premises. If this rule is violated, we will charge an extra EUR 150 to your account.
Smoking is prohibited in the entire Eden Lancaster Hotel and we kindly request that you take this into account. If found smoking on the Eden Lancaster Hotel premises, you will be fined EUR 150.
Please note: Reservations of 9 or more rooms will have different cancellation policies, as this concerns a group booking. Cancellations of individual reservations must be made before 16:00 on the day before arrival.
